BLUE AGORI Greek Food Bar

Fast Food Bar Chain

When our client approached us with their project for a Greek street food bar, the first thing we did was designing a name together with them. The name ‘Blue Agori’ was chosen because it means ’blue boy’, mixes English and Greek words, and it is easy to pronounce. The client then gave us a clear design brief: they wanted to avoid classic Greek patterns and motifs, and they definitely wished to reflect the same modern, fresh, urban approach and excellent quality in their graphic identity that characterises their food.

We decided to use this striking blue colour in order to visualise Greece in some way, and we designed a logo for them that depicts the owner, a young Greek man with a strong profile, who acts as the ‘face’ of the restaurant.

The basic 'face' element was then developed into a blue pattern that appears on many surfaces, including packaging materials, uniforms, menus and also as wall decoration in the interior.

We designed the interiors of all three Blue Agori Greek Food Bars in collaboration with the owners, intentionally ensuring that graphic elements derived from this strong visual identity play a dominant role in the spaces. This approach results in interiors that are unmistakably unique and full of character, setting them apart from other venues with similar functions.

To decorate a big surface where the blue-white Blue Agori pattern would have been too dominant, we briefed Anna Amélie to hand-draw an idyllic Greek landscape with blue ‘agori’-s (boys), which added a soft visual layer to the otherwise minimalist interiors.

The unique pattern developed from the logo works seamlessly across various surfaces. We applied it to menus and business cards, as well as takeaway packaging, which doubles as an advertising surface on the streets.

The vibrant blue color sharply distinguishes even the smallest shop from other fast-food restaurants in the area and stands out amidst the visual noise of the urban landscape.

An additional advantage lies of the pattern is that it serves as an ideal backdrop for selfies and Instagram posts.

The takeaway bag is equally a statement: instead of featuring the full logo with the readable name in large format, it emphasizes the blue, abstract facial profile.

The success of Blue Agori lies not only in its fresh, high-quality, and flavorful dishes but also in its modern, youthful interior design. The three current locations occupy spaces of varying sizes and characteristics, yet the design remains equally strong and effective throughout.
